President and CEO
Hiroyuki Yonekura was appointed President and CEO of True Data in December 2012. Since assuming the position, he has developed a business model which aims to transform True Data into a big data marketing company capable of providing robust data services from an open and neutral standpoint, and that works with clients across the spectrum, from major multinationals to small regional companies.
Hiroyuki Yonekura
He was previously a member of Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s Consumer Intelligence Research Group, and served as an advisor to the Development Bank of Japan’s Competitive Strengthening Research Group. He is currently an executive director at the Data driven Regional Education Association for Marketing (DREAM), an entity that aims to foster data literacy across Japan. The common thread to his work is combining data, technology, and human intelligence to address critical issues in society.
Before joining True Data, Hiroyuki worked in corporate planning, US-based roles at Tokio Marine Nichido, and was a visiting fellow at the Brookings Institution. He has also worked at GE Consumer Finance, where he engaged in business restructuring as master black belt of quality, and has held business development and other roles at GURUNAVI. He was born in Kanagawa Prefecture and graduated in agricultural science from University of Tokyo in 1990. BIO -

Naoko Shimazaki
Naoko Shimazaki oversees a department of more than 200 major consumer goods manufacturing clients and is also responsible for new business development related to digital transformation. Prior to joining True Data, she worked at Recruit, The Ricoh Company, Ltd., and Softbank Group Corp., where she was engaged in domestic and international corporate sales to major consumer goods manufacturers, government agencies, and distributors, and promoted system proposals and operations tailored to customers' business requirements. Kumi Ito has extensive experience as a manager and in marketing and technology roles at businesses ranging from startups to global companies. She has worked at Sony Group Corporation, as a partner in IBM Japan's Strategic Consulting Division, as CMO at GE Healthcare Japan, CMO at Yext, and as President and CEO of 4U Lifecare Inc, among other roles.
Kumi Ito
In addition to being an outside director at Fuji Furukawa E&C Co. Ltd. and SOMPO Holdings, Inc. and Ryohin Keikaku Co.,Ltd., she is an executive director (non-full-time) at the University of Tsukuba and an active jazz vocalist. BIO -

Hiromasa Tamanyu is the Honorary Chairman of Planet, Inc. a data standardization company, which he co-founded with eight consumer goods manufacturers. He also holds positions as Chairman of the Institute of Marketing & Distribution Research and Director of the Japan Voluntary Chain Association. He has also worked at Lion Corporation and served as a committee member at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. A published author, Hiromasa’s newest book, "History of Economics for Executive" was published in 2024. BIO

Yoshiharu Yuki is currently President & CEO of Shoninsha Co. Ltd., a publishing company in the retail distribution industry. He previously served as Editor-in-Chief and then President & CEO of Shogyokai Publishing Co., Ltd. Yoshiharu is also involved in research and education through his roles as Vice President of the Cornell University Retail Management Program of Japan and as a specially appointed professor at Rikkyo University’s Graduate School of Business Administration. Active in lecturing, domestic and international training, and consulting, his most recent book is titled “Chain Stores: An Industrial Vision” and is published by Shoninsha. BIO

Hirotaka Ishihara was appointed to the Board of Directors at True Data in 2018.
Hirotaka Ishihara
He joined Mitsui Trust Bank, Limited in 1990. In 1998, he registered as a lawyer and joined Matsuo Sogo Law Office, later joining Tokyo Aoi Law Office in 2003 where he currently serves today.
He also holds two roles at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology: Special Member of the Nuclear Damage Compensation Dispute Review Board, and Assistant Director to the Office for Reconciliation of Nuclear Damage Disputes, Research and Development Bureau. BIO -

Rie Murayama has been involved in financial and capital markets for 27 years as a Securities Analyst and Investment Banker at Goldman Sachs Japan and other firms, in addition to serving as a Ministerial Aide at the Council for Regulatory Reform under the Cabinet Office of Japan. Rie has served as an Outside Director and Director at multiple organizations including the National Center for Global Health and Medicine and Shinsei Bank (now SBI Shinsei Bank), as the founding President of a startup. She also currently serves as an Outside Director at Ricecurry Inc. and INFRONEER Holdings Inc. and as an Auditor at Yamano Gakuen. Since her appointment as the first manager in charge of diversity at Goldman Sachs Japan, Rie has been focused on diversity promotion activities for a number of years. BIO

After a series of key posts at Japan’s Ministry of Finance and Financial Services Agency, Toshiyuki Yasui served as Executive Managing Director and Member of the Board at public-private fund REVIC (Regional Economy Vitalization Corporation of Japan) and as an Executive Director for Japan and five other countries at the IDB (Inter-American Development Bank). He is currently a Professor and Dean of the Department of Social System Design, the only department at Eikei University of Hiroshima, established in 2021. He is also Guest Professor at the Graduate School of System Design and Management at Keio University. He earned his PhD at International Christian University, received his PMP (Project Management Professional) certification from the U.S.-based PMI (Project Management Institute). His other current positions are Vice Chairman of the Japan Association of Regional Development and Vitalization, Auditor at the Society of Well-being, and Member of the Board of Council at the Japan Creativity Society. Yuki Koshio
Yuki Koshio oversees the Distribution Consulting Division, Data Science Division, and IT Strategy Division. In addition to promoting digital transformation as well as the use of AI and big data, she is involved in human resource development in areas including the development of educational materials and as a lecturer for seminars. Hironobu Sato
Hironobu oversees the use of data for retail promotions and other activities, as well as overseas expansion, and supports the evolution of the retail industry through data marketing. He started his career at ITOCHU Corporation, and was engaged in ID-POS data analysis, research, product development, and private brand launches at Lawson, Inc. He also worked for Catalina Marketing Japan, Mercari, and other companies, building advertising and sales promotion businesses using ID-POS data, AI, and other big data, and promoting business development operations. Yukio Watanabe
As Head of the Distribution Consulting Division, Yukio Watanabe assists retailers in implementing digital transformation (DX), as well as providing operational support to increase added value and drive effective sales methods. Prior to joining True Data, Yukio worked in the e-commerce business and product planning departments of a store credit card company where he was involved in the design and development of many services including web-based invoicing, electronic money services, member platforms, and payment platforms, as well as collaborated with partner companies on product development. He subsequently worked to strengthen the digital infrastructure of a major retailer by launching a cross-group smartphone application. BIO -

Takeshi Nakatsu
Takeshi has led strategic investments and business tie-ups globally in his role as Executive Officer of True Data’s Planning and Development Department.
Prior to joining the company, Takeshi was a business development specialist who worked on global M&A transactions at Shiseido Company, Limited, The Blackstone Group, Innovation Network Corporation of Japan (now INCJ), and GCA Corporation. BIO -

Hideki Kodama
Hideki oversees corporate planning, risk management, compliance, and legal affairs. He previously worked in planning and management for Dai-ichi Life Insurance and its group companies in Japan and abroad. He has extensive knowledge and experience in sales, human resources, corporate planning, compliance, risk management, legal affairs, and business auditing, with a focus on the IT systems field. Hideki graduated from Nagoya University with a bachelor's degree in economics. BIO -

Hiroshi Sugiyama is involved in improving the working environment and expanding internal systems with the aim of creating a company where employees are energized and fulfilled by their work. President, Women's Eye (NPO)
Megumi Ishimoto
Megumi Ishimoto established the RQ Disaster Area Women's Support Center in June 2011 following the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. This was later incorporated as "Women's Eye" in 2013, an NPO based in Minamisanriku, Miyagi Prefecture, with the aim of empowering women in rural areas. In addition to her efforts supporting women in the affected areas, Megumi continues to work on creating learning opportunities for women and has held more than 1,000 lectures since the disaster, attended by more than 10,000 participants in total. She has served as Japan delegate for W20 from 2019 and as a Steering Committee Member of W7 Japan since 2023 where she led the Digital Statement Task Force. BIO -

Junko Kuroki
Junko Kuroki has substantial experience in public relations and consulting, and has spent time working abroad in Hong Kong. Through her experience at recruitment firms, Junko became interested in the influence of leaders and organizational culture. After working at several coaching institutions, she became an independent coach for leaders in 2013. Junko is passionate about female empowerment and supporting social entrepreneurs. Manabu Kurasawa
Advisory Board
After finishing graduate school, Manabu Kurasawa began his career at IBM Japan as an IT engineer. He was subsequently a partner at Corporate Directions, Inc., before joining MISUMI Group where he served as GM of the Corporate Planning Department among other roles. The common thread in his career has been the pursuit of transformation, in everything from management strategy to organizational and operational reform.
Manabu Kurasawa
At True Data, Manabu supports efforts to maximize corporate value, drawing on his extensive experience in management strategy, IT and technology, corporate finance, and capital markets.
Manabu has a Master of Engineering in naval architecture and ocean engineering from the University of Tokyo and a Master of Science in computer science from Stanford University. BIO
